Sephora Haul

I’m developing a weakness for Sephora, and my bank account is paying the price.
Everything is just so amazing I can’t help myself! However, after a bit of research and comparing, I came up with a somewhat reasonable list that includes great quality items on the lower priced end of the scale.

Please excuse the blurry photo!

1. CLINIQUE Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup: So far I am in love with this foundation.  I have really oily skin, and this foundation actually stays mattified all day.  It also has a nice glow to it, so it looks very natural.  It goes on fairly light though, so if you are looking for lots of coverage this may not be the one for you.  It’s priced at $29.00, which is really good for high-quality foundation.

2. CLINIQUE Blended Face Powder and Brush:  This goes on so well after the Stay-Matte foundation.  And it comes with a brush!  It is also $29.00, but when you think about it, to buy a good quality powder brush separately would be about $25.00.  So this is a great deal in my opinion.

3. CLINIQUE Take the Day Off Cleansing Oil: I’ve been wanting to try a cleansing oil for a while now because  I’ve heard how gently it removes eye makeup.  But most cleansing oils are extremely expensive! Again, the Clinique one is on the lower priced side, so it was the one I most wanted to try.  I ended up getting it as a sample, and it works really well.  I’m sure there are much better ones out there, but this one does the job, and saves you a few bucks!

4. Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette: So, I’m a little late to the game with this one.  Everyone has tried it! But I can see why.  The palette seems to be universal, and looks great on everyone.  You can use it for a natural look or build it up for a more dramatic look.  Definitely a keeper.

5. Laura Mercier Eye Basics: This primer was recommended to me by a worker at Sephora.  I was really hesitant to buy it because it is a liquid, and for some reason I thought it would end up being a mess on my eyelids.  Wrong! Honestly this is a great product.  It goes on before your eye shadow and provides a smooth base for the shadow to just glide right over.  It makes blending the eye shadow really easy.  It also illuminates your eyes, making you look more awake and appears to lift your eyelids.

6. Nars Bronzer/Blush Duo: So this is the item that I really splurged on.  That tiny compact cost $30.00!  The regular sized one costs about $52.00.  Everyone swears it is the perfect universal shade, so I thought I’d give it a try.  I don’t usually wear blush and bronzer, so I’m still deciding how I feel about it!

Over all I’m really happy with the products.  And if they are better for my skin, the extra few dollars is well worth it!

  1. Clinique has some wonderful products! Spending that little bit extra is definitely justifiable. 🙂
Unfortunately Nars, Laura Mercier and Urban Decay aren’t available where I live. They seem to have wonderful products that are loved by many.
I love the look and feel of your blog! I look forward to reading future posts! 😀

    1. Thank you for commenting and following, Nadine! I really appreciate it. It’s too bad they don’t sell those products where you live, but I’m sure there are other great companies available!

      1. You are so very welcome! 🙂
We definitely do. A lot of the main cosmetic houses are available here such as MAC, Bobbi Brown and Chanel on the higher-end side of things and then Rimmel, L’Oreal and Revlon on the more drugstore end of cosmetics, as examples, so we do have a lovely variety. 😀

  2. I have to admit that your blog is so inspiring and capturing in a sensitive way!
I have to say that I really enjoyed reading the things you’re writing here! Please continue inspiring us!!!
    Much Love, From Algeria !!
