Exploring Milan

Last October, my friend Vivica and I took a trip to Europe. We visited Italy, Austria and Hungary. In today’s blog I’m going to start with our first day of the trip, which was in Milan, Italy.

We live in different parts of the world, so we met up at the airport in Milan, Malpensa Airport.

After checking in to Admiral Hotel, (which by the way is James Bond themed!) we spent the day wandering the city and taking it easy.

We visited the Duomo di Milano, aka the Milan Cathedral. It has such a presence in the city, you can’t help but stare in awe.

I also couldn’t resist getting a picture of it at night.

You can get entrance tickets across the street at the ticket office, or order them online in advance on their website.

The interior of the cathedral is worth seeing, and if you happen to be there during a service it’s even more magical. Vivica and I stayed there for over an hour just enjoying the architecture and listening to the organ music playing.

We also visited the Louis Vuitton Time Capsule, which we didn’t even know was in Milan until we got there!

We spent the rest of the evening continuing to walk around, and I did a bit of window shopping. The clothing in Milan is so beautiful. I wish I could go on a shopping spree!

After finding somewhere close by to have some dinner, we headed back to our hotel for some much needed sleep. Of course I was jet lagged, and couldn’t sleep a wink! More on that in the next post.

Take care!

  1. I visited Milan three times and I have never been inside the Duomo.
It looks as gorgeous as outside and I will check it out next time I am there, albeit I have to admit that even though I do think it is a pretty nice city, my favourite one in my homeland is Rome!

    1. I’ve never been to Rome! I’d love to visit. We didn’t have enough time to visit Rome on this trip, and my friend had already been anyway. Thanks for commenting!
